PI -Devi Atukorale Dr. Atukorale received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and her PhD from Tokyo Medical and Dental University,Japan.She then completed her post doctoral training at the Mount Saint Vincent University, Nova Scotia with Dr. Tamara Franz-Odendaal where she began to study the molecular aspects of development and evolution of vertebrate craniofacial skeleton. In 2017, she began her position as an assistant professor in the Department of Oral Biology at the University of Manitoba.
Ravi Ratnayake Volunteer Research assistant Dr. Ratnayake completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree at University of Kelaniya,Sri Lanka and his PhD at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Japan. He is currently working on project investigating the taste system of Mexican cavefish. He intends to complete his medical licensing process in Canada.
Vikram Bhatia Post Doctoral Fellow Dr. Bhatia working on two projects; ethanol induce bone malformations in zebrafish craniofacial skeleton and identifying the taste receptor mechanisms of Mexican cavefish.
